Dillon
Welcome to Dillon, a town with a rich history dating back to 1880! Established when the Utah and Northern Railroad made its way through the area, Dillon's origins began at the ranch of Mr. Deacon, who initially resisted selling his land. On September 13 of that year, the townsite group gathered at Deacon's ranch, and just a days later, the deed was officially recorded, marking the birth of our vibrant community. Explore Dillon's unique heritage and discover how it has grown since those early days!

The museum will be closed for the winter as we prepare for the exciting 2026 season. Our office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and Tuesday and Thursday from 11 AM to 4 PM. Please note that we are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. For research inquiries, visit us on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday between 12 PM and 4 PM

The Beaverhead County Museum has successfully accomplished many goals in recent years, thanks to the commitment of volunteers, the Board of Trustees, County Commissioners, the Beaverhead County Museum Association, donors, and community support.
